Insta-Friday 4/27/12

WOW!  This week went by in a flash.

I had been feeling sluggish all week up until yesterday afternoon then something just clicked.  I started feeling better.  I didn't do anything different.  Could it have possibly been my subconscious telling me that I had a busy weekend coming up and I better get better.

Today is Jason's grandmother's 79th Birthday and as he posted on FB she is just as feisty as ever!  So tonight we will be taking her to her favorite restaurant for dinner, Red Lobster.  I just have to stay away from those deadly biscuits they give out.

However, before I go stuff my face I will be conducting a wedding rehearsal at the beautiful Waterfront Hilton in Huntington Beach.  Seriously this is the ultimate beachy resort.  With the ceremony overlooking the Pacific Ocean, I can't wait for tomorrow.  Oh, and you bet I will be sharing photos!

So, lets get on with this weeks edition of insta-friday!  I am linking up with Jeannette from Life Rearranged.

I have been SO good with my no carb diet this week.  Friday night I made Chicken Saute with rosemary.  I though it was delish.  I have really been trying to cook more, I just need to follow a recipe.

On Saturday, I went out with my husband to show my support in his business.  He is always so supportive with me, it was my turn to give back.  Saleen was hosing an open house in Corona.  The cars on display were gorgeous!

The 2013 tail lights on display had everyone wishing they had come out with these earlier.  I guess it's time to upgrade!

This Saleen S7 supercar was on display and Steve even did a photo session in front so that anyone could take a picture with him.

Steve's daughter, Molly, drives this hot pink mustang.  It is an amazing color.  This picture does not do it justice.

After the open house was over, a few members of the SOEC (Saleen Owners and Enthusiasts Club) headed out for a special dinner with Steve Saleen.  Before dinner I walk outside and say this beautiful flower.  It was so vibrant.

I took a picture of my dinner so that I could hold myself accountable for staying on my diet.  I guess I should have taken an after photo of those mashed potatoes that were still on my plate at the end of the night, untouched!  I have great will power.  Especially when the guy across from me orders a chocolate souffle for dessert.

Saturday was great being by my hubby's side.  Then on Sunday he treated us to Glen Ivy Hot Springs in Corona! LOVE!

What we didn't love was the line.  I had called ahead and reserved us two lounge chairs on the Sole Terrace knowing that it would be busy and that I wanted a place that I could come back to.  We showed up late (or so we thought), thinking that there would be no line.  Oh boy, were we wrong!  It took forever!  Jason almost upgraded us to Club 1860 just so we wouldn't have to wait in line.

After we finally got in and settled.  We ordered lunch.  I had a turkey sandwich, without the bread!  This view was perfect!  I love the Sole Terrace.  Thanks grandma for introducing me to it.  After lunch it was off to my facial.  BEST EVER!  The whole day was amazing and spending the whole weekend with my husband was the icing on the cake (that I didn't eat!).

I started tanning again this week.  I had so missed the relaxing time I get in that bed.  I am really working on my summer beach bikini body.

Our neighbor owns the BEST pizza joint around.  Whittier's very own, That's Amore Pizzeria.  Seriously everything there is SO good.  I know I post a lot about food but I use it to keep me on track.  Anyway see that sticker up there on the wall that says 281?  Yup, that's my husband business.  We are all very supportive in each other.

I got this new air freshener last week.  I LOVE it.  And the packaging is not bad either, the black glitter gel is perfect for any girl car.

The weather this week has been super weird and to go along with it we had a tiny little earthquake.  A 3.9 based out of San Juan is what I was told.  We had rain one night then these clouds stayed.  And what it seems like, just over my little city.

Well it is going to be another super excited weekend.  I can't wait to get it started.

Insta-Friday 4/20/12

We have had absolutely GORGEOUS weather this week.  Sorry to rub it in to all you non So Cal residents.  But this is why I live here and no where else.  Love the So Cal weather!

I am liking up with Jeannette from Life Rearranged for Insta-Friday.  You should join in the fun!

How funny that I started this post about the beautiful weather and the first photo it of the rain.  Friday was a crazy rain day but completely welcomed (it doesn't come around so often).  Even though I would rather be at home snuggled in bed.

So on a rainy day what do I want?  Ramen House in Costa Mesa whet my appetite and apparently everyone else as well.  Oh well the chicken curry is so nummy.

After all the rain on Friday the sun showed its face behind all the big fluffy clouds.  I love the sky after the rain.

I had a meeting with a bride last Saturday at a Tea House.  The menu was so big I didn't know what to order.  I ended up with Lemon Honey Iced Tea and it was good.

Healthy eating started on Sunday.  Turkey patty with sliced tomatoes in Huntington Beach on Main Street.  Now its been almost a week and all is good.

We were all very thirsty that morning.  Don't be fooled by that syrup in front of me...it most assuredly was NOT mine.

Later in the day we made our way over to Belmont Shores for dinner.  As we waited for our table we shopped because, well, that's what we do best!  I purchased a perfect gift for an upcoming birthday.

Keeping up with the healthy eating, Chicken Tawook and hummus with a Greek salad.  Too much food that I take half home and have for lunch the next day.

New pillows are expensive but so worth it.  I have been loving on mine this past week.

Green, green, green.  That's all I have been eating this week.  But you can't tell me this doesn't look good.  Actually you could if you commented but I bet none of you would comment on this salad let alone say that it looks terrible.

Taco salad night was so good.  OK, so I know that the corn tortilla is not all that healthy but we did use turkey meat.  No picture of the finished product it was so good I forgot to take a picture before I ate.

Spring pictures...OMG.  They have become so technical lately.  Funniest thing, Jessica showed her grandma and grandma asked "Did you go to each of those places  for the photos"  I could not stop laughing.  Not sure if I like them but we will of course order to memorialize Jessica in her cast.

Are you linking up with Jeannette?  If not you should.  See you next week!

Insta-Friday 4/13/12

Disclaimer:  So I am not sure why this didn't post last week but here it is: 4/13/12 Insta-Friday.  This weeks edition will be up soon.

Here it is again another great week!  Easter was last Sunday and we had a fabulous family day in Laguna.

I am linking up with Jeannette from Life Rearranged for this insta-friday.

Saturday was friend day.  We (Kristy and I) picked up Jessica's friend from school and we headed to the park.  They were having an egg hunt (probably the largest I had ever seen).  The girls had such a blast.  Afterwards we headed out to do some shopping.  They girls had a blast at Justice.  We also picked up some egg dye for some at home fun.

Sunday was Easter and Family day.  We started off with opening the baskets.  In total Jessica received 6 baskets this year. 1. Grandma 2. Mom & Ned 3. Dad & April 4. Papa 5. Special Prize from the hunt on Saturday 6. Family friend.  Needless to say this girl is spoiled!

The boys hid the eggs while we distracted Jessica.  Then it was time for the hunt.  We forgot to count how many were hidden so I hope we got them all.  If not the dogs will.

After the hunt we headed out.  First stop was The Great Park in Irvine.  It was so nice to just walk around with the amazing weather we had.  Falafals and kettle corn were on the menu for the day.

Next we headed to the carousel.  It was nice to feel like a kid again.  I think we rode that thing 3 times!

Finally we made it to our destination, Laguna Beach.   We did a little shopping to entertain the adults before heading over to the water.

Jessica was stoked she just got her cast off and now she was playing at the beach.  The girls were just happy we had Jessica's towel to sit on in the sand with our lovely dresses.  We were definitely over dressed but it was Easter.

Finally it was time for dinner.  We skipped the home cooked ham this year and ate out.  Lazy Dog Cafe was our destination of choice and it was so good.  Check out the chandelier below, definitely doggie heaven on that one.  After dinner was done it was time for a father daughter pow-wow by the fire.

Now for a few randoms...

I bought this Billy Idol album and have been rockin' out in my car all week.

Then the crazy clouds came in and made for a beautiful sky.  It was going to be a wet week.

Teal and coral?  New fav? Just maybe!

5 hour planning sessions are made so much better when you have adorables around to look at.

That's all for this week.  Check back again next week for more excitement!
