Insta-Friday, but more like my weekend story

I am linking up with Jeannette from Life Rearranged for this Insta-Friday post.  Its going to be a LONG one.

It has been one of those crazy whirlwind kinda weeks.  If you remember from last week...

IT WAS MY 30TH BIRTHDAY!!!

Thursday night my husband locked me in the family room and told me not to come out.  He was totally up to something.  Finally he yelled for me to go into my office.  I opened the door and saw this...

Its not a very good picture, I know.  I have coveted this cabinet since the day we saw it on our anniversary trip to Palm Springs last year.  I immediately started pulling items from my office to put on it.  Here is was I came up with so far.

I am still working on it.  Right now it is covered in flowers and birthday cards.

On Friday, my husband and I took a nice relaxing trip to Catalina for the day.

It turned out to be a beautiful day.

He even bought me a purple rose.

I know it is soooo bad but it WAS my birthday!

 Love this PINK hotel.

The next day (Saturday) was to be my fancy dress up dinner night with the family.  Everything had been so hush hush around the house, I knew something was up.  With my fancy dress bought and my make up appointment scheduled I was excited.  I woke up early that morning (I felt like it was Christmas).  I was planning on doing my own hair but after I thought better of it.  I tried to make an appointment but there was not going to be enough time :(  I need to practice a little more on that one.

OK, funny little side story...It seems like my friend, Kristy, and I have the same brain when it comes to fashion.  We ALWAYS, and I really mean always dress alike.  Sometimes we do it so often we check what the other is wearing before going out.  Our signifs think it is totally hilarious.  Well on Saturday we both walked out wearing brown and cream stripped sweaters.  Then we went to the mall that way.

My make up girl Sarah L. (amazing btw, totally recommend her) had this black eye shadow on that looked SWEET.  I knew that was what I wanted the minute I saw it.  Well, Kristy picked the same thing.  Then we told her about the matching sweater thing and she thought that we did it on purpose.  Total junior high moment but oh well. :)

When our make up was finally finished and I do mean finally...it took two hours!  We were smitten.

Here is a quick photo I took through the mirror in my car.  LOVED IT!

We were in a total rush it get back home and finish getting ready.  I still had to do my own hair.  This is how it turned out.  I didn't love itt, but it was a quick 10 minute updo.

Please excuse my messy office.  I was also packing a bag that I didn't know where I was going or how much to pack...so I packed it all...literally!

We had an amazingly, crazy, fabulous night.  I will give you all the dets in another post.  But here is a sneak peek...

I can't wait to tell you all about it!

Here are a few other birthday gift items that were pretty fab.

Kenneth Cole bracelet in a super cool sparkly box.

A beautiful swarovski crystal ladybug necklace.

A cute card from my mommy.

I have also been doing lots of Netflix on the ipad while crafting this week.  It's like multitasking...I love that!

Those are a few of the crafyness that I have been working on this week.  They will be displayed this weekend at yet another baby shower.  Yay! I can't wait.

What have you been up to this week.  I know it was a long one.  Join me in the Insta-Friday...everyones doing it!  Until next week...

Insta-Friday

Whoooo Hooooo!  I am so excited!  I am ahead of the game this week. I have pre-written this blog post and it will be published tomorrow AKA my birthday!  As in the day that I turn the big 3-0 :(

I am not worried though.  I don't feel old and OK I know most people will say that 30 is not that old and they are right.  I have so much more life to live and I feel great and that is all that matters.

Anyway, the reason I am excited and the reason I have pre-witten this blog post is that I will be enjoying the day in Catalina tomorrow (did you know that you get a free trip on the Catalina Express on your birthday).  I know boring, huh, but I can't wait.  We (the hubby and I) don't have any set plans (crazy for a planner, I know).  We are just going to fly by the seat of our pants (well not really fly, we are taking a boat).

Enough with all the parenthesis lets get this insta-friday on the road...

I am linking up with Jeannette from Life Rearranged.

I found this adorbs Wizard of OZ scrapbook page and found out it comes as a kit.  I am utterly completly obsessed with all things Wizard of Oz.  Even though I may look more like Dorothy Glinda is my fav.   I didn't by it but I think that I am just going to have to head back and get it.  Maybe as a B-Day gift to myself.

OK, so I try and keep things PG around here but while shopping at Fashion Island's Victoria Secret store these caught my eye and I just about died laughing.  (That may have just been my longest run on sentence ever)

This row of potted flowers on the staircase caught my eye.  I thought it was so beautiful.

Pounds and pounds of candy arrived at my house this week.  Its for a cute little baby shower candy buffet.  I can't wait to share the set up with you soon.  I hope it turns out as great in person as I picture it in my head.

There has been tons of crafting going on at my office this week.  Trust me when I tell you my office looks like a tornado hit it.  But, being as OCD as I am it will all be back to normal after I am all done.  Don't those owls just look so adorbs and that cutesie puppy dog L.O.V.E.

Shopping for a birthday dress not knowing where I am going or really what to get is difficult.  I think I tried on no less then 40 dresses, and I am NOT exaggerating.  This was a contender but not the chosen one.  Even the chosen one was changed.  I will reveal what I picked next week.

These are a bag thing, very bad thing especially when you are dress shopping.  But oh so good!  Total weakness.

YES, my Christmas tree is still up!  I like to keep it there until my birthday and sometimes a little longer.  One year it stayed up until mid February.  I LOVE Christmas what can I say...it makes me happy.  I wish it was the Christmas season all year long.

Another bad thing...turkey chili, chili cheese turkey dogs and fries.  My excuse...it was my cheat day.  Those are totally necessary.

And just to prove it.  Here was my daily intake of food for the next day...Oatmeal for breakfast, salad with chicken for lunch and chicken Florentine for dinner (I know that it is pasta but in the grand scheme of things its really not that bad).

That is all for this week.  Happy Birthday to ME today!  Have a great one and until next time...

Insta-Friday

OK so this ones a little late in the day.  I need to start preparing my posts on Thursdays so that I can stay ahead of the game.

I am back on it with another installment of Insta-Friday with Jeannett.

These girls came to visit me earlier late last week.  So cute and fluffy!

Night time traffic is miserable during rush hour traffic.

I visited a new scrabook store last weekend.  It was MAJOR! The racks and racks of paper was a bit overwhelming.  I was picking up some paper for a cute project I am working on.  I will be revealing bits and peices on my twitter and facebook.  Check them out.

Turkey Bacon Avocado on Squaw with Sprouts from Tummy Stuffers is A.MAZ.ING!!!

My Google Reader is getting a bit out of control.  I had plans to work on that this week...so much for that :(

Happy Birthday cupcakes went fast.

Thats all for this week.

Insta-Friday

Its Friday again and with that comes another Insta-Friday.  You know some say that if you do something three times it becomes a habit.  Well...that's what I thought, then again, it may just be when trying to stop eating chocolate.

Anyway, a habit has not been formed in taking photos through the week.  In fact, I didn't take ONE camera phone photos this week.  But do not fret, New Years Eve brought us a few photos of a fabulous pajama themed party.

All the friends gathered together in their best PJ wear.

There was board games, beer pong, poker, video games and dancing...

The adults even joined in!

Throw in a little harmless wresteling...

 Some flying...

 Buddy photos...

And the princess in the tutu can't be without her headband to complete the outfit.

Just before the ball drop we all gathered together, some even holding money for good fortune in the new year (I may have grabbed a Franklin that was in my purse to to make sure), to count down.

And at the strike of midnight a kiss and a wish for a wonderful new year to come.

This will conclude my new years edition of Insta-Friday.  I hope to be back next week with an actual Insta-Friday post.
