Insta-Friday

So last week got a little hectic and I didn't get a chance to post.  My bad.  To make up for it I am doing a double post so that I can share the photos that I took.

We had a couple nights of snuggle time watching some Christmas movies on TV.

A Charlie Brown Christmas

Home Alone 1&2

A fun little Christmas Party with some wedding peeps.  and a fun little white elephant gift exchange.  we are all so nice that only one gift was "stolen" and of course it was mine.

One of my gifts was sent overnight from New York!

The stockings were hung by the...bookcase? with care.  There is no fireplace in the Family room and that is where our tree is, so that is where our stockings go.

Jason hosted an open house for his customers and vendors to stop by the shop chat and have a little food.

A Christmas Eve Eve dinner with the hubby and an amazing view.

He was like a kid again playing with legos.  So nice to have the time for simpler things.  And yes they were HIS legos...but in his defense it was the Empire State Building and I bought it for him.

And that white box up there...the one from New York...yea that one.  This is what was inside.  Sorry the photo's a little dart but its a Coach tote for my business stuff.

A warm lunch on a cold day.  Chicken curry soup with mini cornbread muffins. YUMMO!

Gorg sunset the other night.  This photo does not do it justice.

I also have a cute little project I am working on for a baby shower in Texas.

What did you have going on this week?

Insta-Friday

Yay!  Another installment of Insta-Friday.  Not too much talk today...lets get right into the photos.

I am linking up the Jeannett from Life Rearranged.

I started wrapping Christmas presents this weekend...and am proud to say that everything is wrapped.  I still have a few more to buy, but I am WAY ahead of the game this year!

After a few hours of shopping we worked up an appetite,  Ihop provided the fuel we needed to keeping on going.

It was a very rainy day on Monday.  So glad it didn't last into Tuesday.

Why yes.  Yes, I do wrap all my gifts in purple Christmas paper to match my purple Christmas decorations.

New ceiling fan in the family room, and yes I do know that it is winter time, there was just no time this summer to have it installed.  We will enjoy it next summer though.

Friendly cat lady even has a Christmas tree for her cats.  I can't decide if this is cute or creepy.  I will just go with cute :)

Newport Coast after the rain is absolutely beautiful.

Yay for Christmas lights up.  Just a single strand around the roof line.  Taking it slow and adding something new every year.

Thats all for this week.  What did you do this week?

Insta-Friday

It's time for Insta-Friday again.  I am totally excited that I remembered to post again.  I have really been getting into taking photos more and I even downloaded a new app.  I don't have an iPhone (I know lame right) but I found an android app that you can take retro style photos with.  It's called...wait for it...Retro Cam and its free!  There are 6 different cameras that you can choose from and they each take a different style of retro photo.  Now I am not real techie so I wont go into any more details but if you are looking for an alternative camera for the instagram I would highly recommend it.

Anyways...enough talk lets look at some photos :)

Christmas decorations came down from the attic last week and the boxes were all piled up in my living room and home office.  I was tired of seeing them and so was the hubby.  So I put up all the decorations that I could and put the empty boxes back up in the attic while the other boxes still remained, but it was a start!  These are the empties ready to go back up.

While taking down Christmas boxes from the attic I found an unfinished craft project I threw up there from a few years ago.  I decided I was just going to get rid of it but Jessica saw it and asked if she could have them.  Saturday then became a craft day making ornaments.  I gave her the idea of giving them as gifts but I think most of them she made for herself.  Oh well, it was still a fun day.

Here is where the retro camera photos come in.
Monday  morning breakfast on the go...oatmeal!  Oh and a messy car floor, just ignore that part please ;)

FYI: This is what you get when you try to take a photo of Christmas lights in a moving car.

The best gift I ever bought for myself, fingerless gloves.  The cute neon leopard print part has an elastic that attaches to the button.  You can remove that and flip it over your fingers for mittens!  They make such a difference, finger tips may be a little cold but so nice to type with then on.  I'm even doing it right now! (oh and I totally need a manicure, please don't judge)

And finally!  The tree is decorated!  I try to do something a little different every year.  This year was the addition of ribbon and I like it.  (possible blog post on all my Christmas decorations, just a thought)

Breakfast on the go has been oatmeal lately but I have run out of time in the morning twice this week.  Its a good thing I have a box of these in the back seat.  Don't worry they are low cal.

Last night my husband hosted his first company Christmas party! (with more than one employee)  We all had a great time at the Old Spaghetti Factory in Fullerton.  We even did a White Elephant gift exchange.  All the gifts were good ones so there was not much stealing involved.

I seem to be perpetually stuck at red lights lately.  I just had to document it :(

That's all for today.  Have a wonderful weekend!

right now...

stole this idea from a bunch of other bloggers around the internets:

right now i am…

watching:  the wind blowing all the Autumn colored leaves around on the ground and up into the air

eating:  an egg sandwich, in need of some major protein today, feeling a bit sluggish

drinking:  WATER! All I ever drink!

wearing: Black slacks, ivory lace top, new Kenneth Cole coat, fingerless gloves to type and no shoes, don’t
judge, its not nice

avoiding:  the paper pile on my desk

feeling:  tired and yucky.  Woke up feeling terrible but slowing feeling better, very slowly

missing:  my husband.  working late every night this week

thankful:  loving family, holidays bring out the love

weather:  64* just checked weather.com, still too cold for my little fingers

praying:  family members of friends

needing:  a nap, maybe it will help kick me out of this funk

thinking: about the Christmas Party tonight and eating yummy food

loving:  the holiday season.

Insta-Friday...kinda

OK, here goes.  I am going to try something new.  That's not the hard part.  Now actually sticking to it, that just may prove to be difficult.

I have been following a few blogs that do this little thing called Insta-Friday.  Taking the photos from their phones for the week and posting a blog about it on Fridays.  I thought this would be a great way for you, my readers, to get a glimpse into my personal life.  Now if I can keep up with it that would be wonderful.  If you could keep me accountable, that would be GREAT!  If its Friday afternoon and I still haven't posted BUG me about it :)

Thanks and here it goes...

I took this photo for my husband...it wasn't a tease.  But he asked if it was his Christmas gift.  Then I felt terrible :(

Girls day at the salon! Days like these are few and far between but when they happen they sure are fun.  This was a rare occurrence as it was more like girls weekend because the day before we shopped.  Oh and I spy little ol me in the background. Can you?

Sir Winston Churchill came to visit me and we played.  He slobbered, snorted and did the slanted playful pounce that bulldogs do.  I loved every minute.

Just documenting how "fast" I was going.  Oh and I need to get gas too.

I have officially started decorating for Christmas.  It may only be a little progress, but hey its progress!

And so while decorating last night I had a little help...OK more like supervision...well maybe just an onlooker...oh who am I kidding he slept the whole time!
